Playing Arena

The playing surface at the Dimboola Health and Fitness Centre is fully fenced and is large enough to include a full sized hockey pitch (91.40 m x 55 m) plus the regulation run-off area all around the edge of the field. This area is lined for both hockey and twelve tennis courts but the all-weather nature of the surface and the competition standard lighting makes the ground perfect for many other sports either as a competition or training venue.

During the winter season the Dimboola and Horsham Hockey Clubs host their home rounds at the Centre and at least one round of finals have been played here each season since it was opened. The change rooms with showers along with the comfortable indoor and terraced viewing areas for spectators make this an ideal venue for playing and watching hockey.

The venue is also regularly used by Hockey Victoria to host regional trials and training sessions and by the schools for interschool competitions.

Three local tennis clubs play their home games here with the lighting allowing them the flexibility to schedule games in the evenings to avoid the heat of the day during summer.

The Australian national lacrosse team, the Sharks, have also used the venue as part of their training in the lead up to the 2014 World Championships.

Other local sports such as football and netball also regularly use the facility for training sessions.
